2026 Dates


Choral / School Music - Tuesday, March 31 to Wednesday, April 1 (in schools)
Kiwanis Musical Theatre - Sunday, April 12 to Saturday, April 18 (Salvation Army Temple)
Bands - Monday, April 20 to Friday, April 24
(elementary/jazz bands at Elim Church, high school bands in schools)
General* - Sunday, April 26 to Sunday, May 3 (University of Saskatchewan, Education Building/Convocation Hall)
Kinsmen Competition - Sunday, May 3 (University of Saskatchewan, Quance Theatre)


* The "General" festival includes all solo performers and small ensembles, excluding Musical Theatre participants.

Fees

Solo Performance Classes

12 and under / Prep-Grade 3: $22
13-17 / Grades 4-6: $27
Ages 18+ / Grade 7+: $35

Small Ensemble Classes

$27-$55, depending on class age group and size

Large Ensemble Classes

Choirs: $79
Elementary Bands: $79
Jazz Ensembles: $79
High School Bands: $96


All invoices include a mandatory 15% transaction fee. This fee helps us cover the administrative costs associated with running such a large event. To learn more about fees and how we use the money we collect, visit our Fees page.

The categories listed here correlate to the class entered, not necessarily the student's own age. For example, a 10 year old student entered in a 17 and under class will pay $27 for that class. A 15 year old entered in a Grade 1 class will pay $22.

The Saskatoon Music Festival was established in 1930 to provide performance and competition opportunities for young musicians in the city. Nearly 100 years later, our vision is still to encourage and support young musicians and to help foster a lifelong love of music.
